2020 Census

RecoloredCensusNewsletterAd_AAACF_Vertical_24Sep2019 (1)

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

  • For every person not counted in Michigan, the state loses $1,800 each year  in federal funds for critical programs, including older adult services. The Census determines how billions of federal dollars are allocated for schools, businesses, roads and services for older adults in Michigan.

HOW CAN I BE COUNTED IN MICHIGAN?

  • You will get a unique code by mail in March to use when responding.
  • You can respond to Census 2020 as of April 1 online or by phone,
  • If you spend more than six months in Michigan each year, use the unique Census code sent to your Michigan address in March or wait  until you get home to respond.
  • If the Census does not receive a response from you, a Census questionnaire will be mailed to you and a Census representative may come to your home to collect information.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  • Census workers will never ask for your Social Security number.
  • Your responses are secure and cannot be used against you in any way!
  •  Call our office for more information at (231) 922-4688
