Cherry Festival Activities - Senior EventsThe Senior Center hosts several Cherry Festival senior events. All events take place at 801 E. Front St., Traverse City, MI 49686. All ages welcome: once you start play, you must finish, intermediate game knowledge expected. Advanced registration required/ walk-ins based on availability. Traverse City Chapter
MSSFA Chapters have membership meetings with guest speakers to learn all the aspects of sport fishing. MSSFA Chapters also sponsor fishing clinics, seminars, sport-fishing shows, derbies and tournaments. A Traverse City Chapter has recently formed and meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center in Traverse City. Senior Center Members are welcome to attend these meetings.
With a common goal, and a close working partner with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). MSSFA helps to enhance the resource and sport fishing in our rivers, streams, inland lakes and of course the Great Lakes.

Twin Lakes Fitness Programming
Crystal Bindi Dance Studio began with the goal of facilitating positive transformation, both physical and personal, through the freeing art of dance. This fun and adventurous dance community is about gaining wellness from the inside out. Now through a new partnership with Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation, at the Gilbert Lodge at Twin Lakes, we offer a new and fun way to come play in your parks today. Listen to the rhythms of live drums or just the peaceful sounds of the lake as you relax and enjoy. No prior dance or fitness experience necessary; any age, size, fitness level welcome. During the months of February, March and April - volunteers from AARP assist senior citizens in completing simple tax returns, at no charge, through the Senior Center Network.
To qualify to have your taxes completed:
- You must be of low or middle income
- You must have a simple tax return to complete
Advance registration is required. Scheduling will begin in January each year for appointments starting February 1. Contact us at 231-922-4911, to schedule your appointment.

Bay Area Senior Advocates (B.A.S.A.) hosts this expo of collective solutions for changes that area families may experience when aging. The Senior Center Network participates with over 100 exhibitors in the Ideas for Life Expo, offering services available to seniors in our community. Visit their website.
